How can Breathing exercises help my studies?

by Susie Doenhoff on March 29th, 2023 in General Study, Wellbeing | 0 Comments

Breathing exercises can have a positive effect on focus by reducing stress and calming the mind. When we are stressed, our breathing becomes shallow and rapid, which can lead to feelings of anxiety and decreased focus. By practicing deep, slow breathing, we can slow our heart rate, lower our stress levels, and improve our ability to concentrate.

Here are some breathing exercises that can help improve focus:

  1. Deep breathing: Inhale deeply through your nose, filling your lungs with air, and exhale slowly through your mouth. Repeat this several times.

  2. Box breathing: Inhale for a count of four, hold for a count of four, exhale for a count of four. Repeat this several times.

  3. Diaphragmatic breathing: Place one hand on your chest and the other on your abdomen. Inhale deeply, filling your lungs and allowing your diaphragm to expand. Exhale slowly, allowing your abdomen to collapse.

  4. Alternate nostril breathing: Close your right nostril with your thumb and inhale deeply through your left nostril. Close your left nostril and exhale through your right nostril. Repeat this several times.

These breathing exercises can be done anywhere, at any time, and can help improve focus and reduce stress. Incorporating them into your daily routine can have a significant impact on your mental and emotional well-being.
