Stay positive

Sometimes it can be difficult to feel motivated, maybe exams are looming and there’s a lot of studying to do. Here are eight tips to

help you stay positive:

  1. Stay positive. Appreciative the little victories. You did well on a test you dreaded, you were complimented, you finished an assignment early and have extra time to relax.
  2. Making others happy will make you happy. Fellow stressed- out students may find your positive outlook relaxing and motivating.
  3. Be serious about your homework. By doing your assignments quickly and properly and delivering them early, not rushing at the last minute, you’ll feel good about your work and have more time to do fun stuff.
  4. Reach out to new people. Join your fellow students after class, invite someone new along and build connections.
  5. Balance study with fun. Your mind will shut down if you don’t take time to re-energize and relax. Try yoga, running, listening to music, or watching a movie. No matter how busy the student life gets, you’ll benefit from taking breaks to remain focused and productive.
  6. Get enough sleep and good healthy food. The body and brain need rest and fuel to function properly.
  7. Enjoy nature. We react better in natural spaces, and spending time in nature can both reduce stress and increase creativity.
  8. Follow your passion. Do what you love! Surround yourself with things and people that make you feel good. Make sure to find the time for the things that bring you joy.
