How is your autumn going?

How is your autumn going? Did you celebrate Halloween or All Saints’ Day?🎃 In October, we hosted a Harry Potter and Halloween exhibition, brimming with mystery and charm🧙, along with captivating poetry and mental health exhibits showcasing fascinating books and magazines. We also announced the winner of the library survey🏅, awarding her a gift card to the bookstore.

We created a booklet about the Oria searching system, where you can locate both physical and digital resources available at the University Library, such as books, eBooks, articles, journals, encyclopedias, PhD theses, and films🎬. Additionally, there is a leaflet about the music room, making it easy to search for CDs, songs, audio files, or even scores. All of this information is available at the UiA self-help stand on the library's first floor.🔍Oria offers a simple search option, where you merely enter your query, such as the title of a book, and an advanced search with filters like resource type, publication date, language, department, creator, course name, and topic. If you have any questions or difficulties with searching, subject librarians are available to assist at the guidance desk from 10:00 to 14:00 every day. 📆

We continue to strive to make the library a cozy place to stay, with planned renovations to its interior. Soon, the bombing room at the Grimstad library will be redesigned, welcoming everyone to a new space for reading and studying. 🖼 It will feature lovely pictures of cute animals, soft pillows and chairs, plants, and lighting—ideal for escaping noise.

For newcomers, we recommend attending Forskerfokus, a monthly event at the library designed to expand our horizons and knowledge. Forskerfokus is an engaging lunchtime gathering specifically tailored for the dynamic academic community at UiA.📈These sessions provide a proactive platform for connecting research, collaboration, and knowledge sharing, all within the warm and scholarly atmosphere of the university library. Faculty, researchers, and specialists from various fields come together to present and discuss their dedicated research.
