Rewards

It can be difficult to work hard over long periods of time. To get better study results, one suggestion is to List achieveable goals, and put in small rewards when that goal is reached. Decide in advance what reward to use for what goal, so you don’t lose your focus. A split between 45 minutes of work and 15 minutes break is considered ideal. Your brain continues to work and process the knowledge even when you’re resting.

Here are some reward ideas:

  1. Reward both brain and body with regular breaks, where you move away from the study area.
  2. Go outside in the fresh air.
  3. Watch a YouTube-video after having read a determined number of pages or period of time.
  4. Listen to some music or a short podcast.
  5. Buy yourself a coffee.
  6. Eat something extra tasty for lunch.
  7. Do some movements and jumps.
  8. Leave your phone in your bag, and use it as a reward when a goal is reached.

How about rewarding yourself with a good movie? For example the classic One flew over the cuckoos nest from 1975.

Good luck with your studies!
