Method
- Create a new EndNote library, and Run the same search as the original search (if needed edit the search)
- De-duplicate through EndNote as you did with the original search. See more information
- Compare the unique hits with the unique original hits
- Create a new EndNote library, import the original unique hits (File import) - add it to a group (To export references from an EndNote library: Select references, File - Export - Make sure the output style is set to RIS format, Save as a .txt file)
- Edit preference, show the Record numbers as the first column
- Import the new unique from the updated search. Do not assign the reference to a group
- From All references; check the duplicates and remove (delete) duplicates (from the Unfiled group)

- Opprett et nytt EndNote biblioteket for det oppdaterte søket. Ufør søk i alle databaser som originalsøket, send alle treff fra oppdatert søk til dette biblioteket. Luk ut dubletter, Du skal stå igjen med en gruppe unike treff fra det oppdaterte søket. Se mer om dublettfjerning
- Kopier de unike treffene fra det originale søket til det nye biblioteket, som er opprettet for å sammenligne originale unike mot originale fra det oppdaterte søket. Merk alle og legg til en gruppe originale unike
- Kopier de unike treffene fra det oppdaterte søket- disse blir liggende i unfiled
- Utfør dublettsjekk på samme måte som tidligere. Slett dubletter fra unfiled gruppen. Du vil til slutt stå igjen med de unike nye treffene. Treff i trash er dubletter originale unike og oppdaterte unike

- Oppdaterer basert på publiseringsdato: Du risikerer å få med dubletter, da ditt siste søk sluttet midt i et år; du risikerer også å miste poster, som er eldre, som av en eller annen grunn ikke var registrert i databasen på det tidspunktet du søkte første gang

- Item 12: Updates: Report the methods used to update the search(es), (e.g. re-running searches, e-mail alerts)
- Item 13: Dates of searches: For each search strategy, provide the date when the last search occurred.
- The date (day, month, year) when the search was run
- If the updated search is exactly the same, report the last date (you can also report both date, the first and updated date for running the search)
- Examples:
- the search was initial run on date (day, month, year) and then rerun on date (day, month, year)
- On date (day, month, year) databases were searched
- Item 15: Total records: Document the total number of records identified from each database and other information sources.
- Example searches with updates: Treat them as one search and record the total number of results overall.
